Your remote team is struggling to manage emails. What tools can help?
Email has its purpose, and not everything fits that purpose. Using other tools - Slack, Team, zoom - there are plenty of options, allows teams to focus and batch. I like to share a short video at times in Slack - it sits there for whenever the team gets to it, they can watch, listen or read the transcript - on their time. And, if it is not critical, leaving a quick TL;DR lets them know if it even needs to be viewed. Targeted comms, in appropriate forums, helps manage content and focus for all.

What are some effective ways to recognize employees and boost engagement?
We love to celebrate work anniversaries, birthdays, client recognition and other special events. Like many orgs, we use Slack and often share such updates there where the team can all easily see updates and cheer one another on. We have someone dedicated to the recurring updates and anyone can share other accolades and updates as they like. Keeping things simple and informal makes it an easy win and a lot of fun.

What strategies can you use to mitigate terrorist attacks at events?
In addition to local training efforts, understanding industry smart and best practices is critical. Programs such as the IAVM's Academy for Venue Safety and Security can provide great resources, relationships and motivation to staff to have a strong safety and security mindset.

What strategies can you use to mitigate terrorist attacks at events?
I've had a lot of fun debates with colleagues on this - a cart and horse question of sorts - but our team takes the approach of "understand the threats, assess the risks." Before assessing risk, it is important to understand the threat environment. What threats exist, across all-hazards? What threats are relevant to venues and your event? Its important to have access to intel and relevant info, to leverage trusted communities like Information Sharing and Analysis Centers and Organizations (for venues and events, RE-ISAC, for example) and industry groups like the International Association of Venue Managers, as well as public sector and local industry partnerships which should be part of hometown security.
