A little more

I am passionate about teaching. As an instructor, my approach prioritizes on teaching economics as a powerful tool to solve different problems while preparing students to be successful in their future careers. I have noticed that those professors that leave a lasting impression share some basic traits: they are knowledgeable, motivating, and can connect with students as a group and individually. This appreciation has laid the foundations for my own teaching philosophy.

My fields of interest are strongly influenced by my experience in the Ministry of Finance in Mexico, where I worked for over four years assessing the impact of fiscal policies. My research agenda focuses mainly on how public policies affect different health related outcomes, yet my work also explores topics related to informality and crime.
