Shoe Charms and Key Chain Pop Art

My Students

In my art class students range from low socioeconomic to middle socioeconomics. My students are creative and always striving to be original. Students are able to freely express themselves in a safe and positive environment.

At my school art is one of the more popular electives and I am always receiving new students.

We also offer a “flex-time.” A time for students to have extra enrichment for 30 minutes a day. Many teachers use this time to remediate or enrich. A lot of my students are able to work on special art projects that are small group.

My Project

This project will help my students be able to creatively make pop art key chains and shoe charms. So many of my students love to think outside the box and this will give students a chance to be a designer of a Pop Art inspired shoe charm or key chain. I know the kids are really into wearing crocs and most students have a pair or they have a friend who wears them.

My students will put themselves into the designer/creator role and come up with a new line of croc shoe charms.

Our man focus will be on Pop Art Movement. We will learn about many of the great Pop Art artists like Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, and Wayne Thiebaud. Students will then design a new line of charms or key chains.

We will also learn about different jobs that include art. Fashion designing is such a interesting industry that students will be able to explore while making their shoe or key chain designs.
