My Students

My students are creative, thoughtful, and full of questions! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions!

They come to school each day ready to try new things and take chances in order to grow both personally and academically.

They are inspiring!

We serve military families from Barksdale Air Force Base, as well as English language learners. Each student helps diversify our population and bring in knowledge and experiences of their culture and traditions.

Each child in our classroom loves learning and creating through our various STEAM projects. When students have varying abilities and special needs, we must incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, alternative seating, and technology. They are truly an incredible group of students that are excited and ready to learn each day!

My Project

Our class has read over 2500 books this year. Some of these have been audio books, but we are limited in that selection.

Audio books are essential for a classroom with struggling readers and those with reading disabilities.

Listening to a digital texts isn't the same as holding a book and reading along with the audio. These audio books build confidence in struggling readers and allow them to read the same books as their peers. With these easy to use cd players we can partner up with mixed abilities in our reading centers. We look forward to incorporating this equipment daily.
