Help me give my students things like ink cartridges, answer buzzers, and sight word flash cards for some exciting and new activities to do in our EL classroom.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I currently teach 20 of the most precious Kindergarten-Second grade students. I have an EL classroom filled with 9 boys and 11 girls that love school, socializing, and their friends. Part of their love for learning is because of our fun classroom environment. Our school is a Title 1 school and is very involved in our community around us. There is never a question of whether or not we involve the parents and other family members in every part of our school. We love our community!
My Project
I think that the new flashcards and sound buzzers will definitely make a difference in our EL classroom. Because I teach students in grades K-2, those cards will be perfect to help my students see the meaning of words to help build background knowledge for them. The sound buzzers will help my students hear and see the sounds they are learning. I am going to create stickers to put on the buzzers with their letters and then record the sound so my students can push them if they have trouble making a letter sound. I have ink on the list so I can print some of my students Spelling and Power Words out for them if they need more practice on those words. I also listed the EL shirts for my co-teacher and me to wear together for our students. We love representing them and are very proud of our students. Some of the items listed can be used for home learning and some cannot, but they will all be beneficial to students.
