    Genesys Works is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization that changes the trajectory of life for inner-city high school students by allowing them to realize, through meaningful work experience, that they can succeed as professionals in the corporate world.

    Students enter the program during the summer prior to their senior year. After 8 intensive weeks of training, students are assigned to work at our clients from August to July, during their senior year.

    Overview:
    Genesys Works is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization that changes the trajectory of life for inner-city high school students by allowing them to realize, through meaningful work experience, that they can succeed as professionals in the corporate world.

    Students enter the program during the summer prior to their senior year. After 8 intensive weeks of training, students are assigned to work at our clients from August to July, during their senior year.

    The training is designed specifically to arm students with the knowledge they need to have in order to provide value to corporations in either information technology (PC support), engineering drafting or accounting/finance departments.

    The key to Genesys Works’ success is its win-win model: companies benefit from reliable, motivated and cost-effective resources while students get to experience a life-changing opportunity. Currently, over half of all Fortune 500 companies in Houston engage Genesys Works students. Furthermore, the model serves as a powerful example for education reform.

    Responsibility:
    - Contributed a total of 144 hours to develop a Bay Area feasibility study for expanding Genesys Works services to the Bay Area.
    -Developed the integrated recommendation and analysis framework for the expansion study.

    Results:
    - Recommended to Genesys Works to expand to two locations - San Francisco and San Jose by 2013.
    - Expected to graduate 20+ students in the initial 2013 pilot and grow to graduate 200+ students by 2016.

    Client requested a rapid assessment for 2 primary issues: 1) Individual and Family Plan (IFP) Out-of-network claims processing and 2) IFP member cancellations through the California exchange. In this time constrained project, we executed the following activities:
    • Interviewed over 40 stakeholders
    • Documented 5 detailed current state process maps
    • Drafted assessment findings which included identifying 17 root causes

    Project Overview:
    The Fortune 500 oilfield services firm (Company X) acquired a competitor to strengthen its international presence and capture greater market share in the pressure pumping business. Because there were significant overlaps in the two companies’ geographic footprint and product lines, the merger further exacerbated the Company X's legal entity structure which was already over-inflated and expensive to maintain due to a long history of growth through acquisitions. Accenture helped Company X diagnose its As-Is organization structure, identify potential opportunities areas, conduct cost benefits analyses, develop rationalization strategies, and outline key work plan activities in order to reduce entity carrying costs and increase operational efficiencies.
    As a direct result of the legal entity rationalization project, Company X has been able to dissolve approximately 30 legal entities which make up around 25% of the total legal entity population inherited by the company as part of the merger. This translates into significant cost savings in two ways: 1) reduces reoccurring compliance costs required of all active legal entities and 2) eliminates the need to incur ~$500k per entity to build and configure the standard Company X's ERP platform on legacy acquired competitor's entities (up to $18MM).
