Colonial High School
CHS Community Member,

It is a wonderful privilege to return to Colonial High School as your new principal. For the past four years I have served as the principal of Roberto Clemente Middle School. However, prior to that experience I had served here at Colonial as an Assistant Principal. As you may already know, Colonial High School has enjoyed many successes over the past several years on both the academic front and in multiple extracurricular areas. We plan on building upon that momentum this school year and beyond. Of course, I realize a major key to additional future success is community involvement which is a key part to our 2022-2023 plans.

This week we have welcomed back the teachers for their annual pre-planning period ahead of the students' return next Wednesday, August 10th. In this final summer break edition of The Colonial Connection we have included some important back-to-school information beginning with our annual Grenadiers Marching Back tomorrow afternoon (details just below). If you or your student will be attending Colonial this school year, please plan to join us!

Thank you very much for reading this special edition and I look forward to hopefully seeing you at Grenadiers Marching Back on Friday. Have a great weekend!

Betzabeth Reussow
Principal
Colonial High School

Pictured very top: Thank you to our amazing and dedicated custodial team! They have spent all summer deep cleaning, waxing the floors, and sanitizing the school to make sure it is ready to welcome back all of our Grenadiers next week.

License (not permit), insurance and vehicle registration as well as a signed permit form will all be required. Eligibility
1) Physicals
All student-athletes MUST have a completed physical on AthleticClearance.com prior to participating in any tryouts. The physical process includes an EL2 (physical), EL3 (student and parent signature section), and an ECG. Physicals are valid for one year while only one ECG is needed for the duration of High School Athletics. All of the necessary forms can be found on AthleticClearance.com or the school's athletic website. Please note that the EL2 physical form is different than the school physical and a school physical will not satisfy the requirements for athletics.

2) Grades
All athletes must maintain a cumulative unweighted GPA of 2.0 or higher to be eligible for athletics. Freshman are exempt from this requirement for the first semester only since they do not have a high school GPA. Cumulative GPA’s are only updated at the conclusion of a semester so an ineligible athlete cannot become eligible until the following semester begins.
