At WellSpan, our goal is to stand as a prepared and trusted partner for our friends and neighbors in Central Pennsylvania—especially in times of uncertainty.
There is no doubt that these are extraordinary times. There is widespread agreement that Central Pennsylvania will see a significant increase in the number of COVID-19 cases in our community in the coming days and weeks. To prepare, WellSpan has taken quick action to double our critical care capacity.
In order to be fully prepared, WellSpan is quickly assembling a temporary Clinical Care Reinforcement Team to support the increased capacity and anticipated volume. We are reviewing and onboarding qualified applicants for the following disciplines to join us. We are expediting our hiring process to allow the Clinical Care Reinforcement staff to join our teams within the coming weeks.
The health and safety of our staff and our communities remain our top priority. We have significantly increased our use of technology and telemedicine to help slow the spread of coronavirus by keeping people at home, rather than requiring them to travel to one of our care locations for treatment.
We have begun redeploying physicians, nurses and staff to our hospitals with the greatest needs to help. But we still need additional clinical staff to join us in this fight.
