Support the College of Nursing

The University of Kentucky College of Nursing is preparing the next generation of providers, leaders, researchers and policy makers to improve health care delivery, advance nursing excellence, revolutionize health care and promote the highest levels of wellness. Our nursing students benefit from the expertise of the highest quality full-time and part-time faculty and staff. Academic programs include a vibrant history of academic rigor and teaching excellence through interactive and innovative learning strategies.

The BSN Program has an outstanding history of achieving 97 to 100 percent pass rates for first-time NCLEX (board exam) takers, as well as preparing graduates to be nurse leaders, advanced practitioners and researchers.

The DNP Program was the first in the country and continues to grow by leaps and bounds to meet the complex health needs of patients, families, communities and health care systems.

The goal of the PhD Program, which is ranked among the top eight programs in the U.S. by the National Research Council, is to discover and disseminate new knowledge that improves the health of Kentuckians and beyond.

With a $20 million research portfolio, the College is ranked 21st for National Institutes of Health (NIH) funding among all public and private nursing schools. Topics of funded programs of research include: cardiovascular disease, tobacco control policy, diabetes, cancer, agricultural health, chronic pain, acute injuries and mental health.

We are proud of our innovative history of interprofessional health education and thankful for the support of alumni and friends.
