Gabby Standifer Signs with Texas State Women’s Basketball Team

SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State head women's basketball coach Zenarae Antoine announced Friday that Gabby Standifer has signed with the Bobcats as a graduate transfer from Fresno State for the 2020-21 season.

"Gabby is a perfect fit for our program," Coach Antoine said. "From the moment she arrived on campus, our team, our coaches, and our faculty/staff all realized that she is a competitor in the classroom and on the court. We have watched Gabby compete on the basketball floor, and be successful both scholastically and collegiately. But what is even more impressive is that this young lady has received her bachelor's degree in two years."

Standifer comes to Texas State after graduating with a bachelor's degree in education and playing one season with the Bulldogs. She will pursue a master's degree in education at Texas State. Standifer played in 15 games as a freshman and scored a season-best 12 points at San Jose State.

A native of The Colony, Texas, Standifer was a three-time Class 4A All-State First-Team selection after leading Argyle High School to three state championships and a 138-35 overall record. She averaged 14.8 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 3.6 assists during her senior year.
