The goal of the New Ventures program is to promote innovation and entrepreneurship at Texas State by building bridges between Texas State and other talent hubs in the Central Texas Innovation Corridor and beyond! Exceptional participants will have the opportunity to apply for a spot in the New Ventures Program.

The information you supply in this form will not be shared outside of the New Ventures staff and mentors.

Please be sure to include the following:

Business Case

• Customer Pain (defined problem, importance due to industry or social impact)
• Proposed solution (clear and compelling solution to the defined problem)
• Plans for product / service (milestones and outcomes for the next 12 months)
• Customer needs & acquisition (plans for market entry, marketing plan, sales & distribution channels and/or licensing plan, expected outcomes)
• Competitors and risks (who displaced, why customers would change, who is the buyer)
• End goal (i.e. free standing company, position for future sale or unknown/undecided)
• Why now and why your team (why should you be selected for New Ventures)

Budget

• Source and amount of funds for the next 9 months (be specific if more than New Ventures proof of concept funds providing amount and sources)
• Use of funds for next 9 months (specific targeted uses)

• Presentations may not exceed 20 slides in length
• Do not include any undisclosed or unprotected company IP to avoid patenting, trademark, or copyright issues.
