Session Type: Invited Speaker Session
This session commemorates Dr. Stuart A. Karabenick’s life and legacy. Dr. Karabenick was a remarkable scholar who left an indelible mark on the fields of help-seeking, self-regulated learning, relevance for learning and motivation in education, academic delay of gratification, teacher responsibility and motivation for professional development, and computer-mediated instruction. He was a widely published scholar, regularly presenting his research and serving frequently as a discussant and invited speaker at national and international conferences. Each panelist will share with the audience their experiences with Dr. Karabenick, his impact on their research, teaching, and careers, and what they learned from him. This forum will provide opportunities for audience members to participate in this commemorative session.
