Hosted by Dalia Colón
When Dan Bavaro packed up his wife and kids to move from New Jersey to Florida, he didn’t have his sights set on opening a New York-style pizzeria. Instead, Bavaro’s Pizza Napoletana and Pastaria serves up Neapolitan-style pies, bringing a taste of Italy to its four Tampa Bay locations. Producer Dalia Colón recently stopped by Bavaro’s flagship restaurant in downtown Tampa for a lesson in pizza making.
In Bavaro’s 100-year old wood-burning stove, pizzas bake in 90 seconds at 850-900 degrees.
“I wanted something that had a little more passion and history. So I stumbled upon Neopolitan pizza…” – Dan Bavaro
