Hilton Head, S.C. – Stockton University (6-1) topped Lake Forest (Ill.) (10-8) by a 6-3 score to remain unbeaten at 4-0 on its spring break trip. The Ospreys won the last four matches on the singles ladder and two out of three in doubles.
The doubles teams of
Sophia Pasquale (Galloway/Holy Spirit) and
Audrey van Schalkwyk (Haddon Hts./Paul VI) plus
Carlee Cristella (Mantua/Clearview) and
Kierstyn Fenimore (Tabernacle/Seneca) each won by 8-4 scores.
Cristella led the way in singles with a 6-0, 6-0 shutout while Fenimore contributed a 6-2, 6-4 win. Pasquale and van Schalkwyk each split sets and then prevailed in super tiebreakers after dropping the first set.
Pasquale downed her opponent 4-6, 6-3, 10-5 while van Schalkwyk outlasted her foe 2-6, 6-1, 12-10.
Stockton will conclude its stay in Hilton Head with a match against Dickinson College tomorrow morning at 9 a.m.
