In anticipation of the lectures by Ayad Akhtar (April 5, 2022) and Viet Thanh Nguyen (April 7, 2022), we invite you to participate in reading groups to discuss their works. To make participation in the reading groups as equitable as possible, several copies of each book are on reserve at Tutt Library. In addition, we have a limited number of free copies of Viet Thanh Nguyen’s "The Sympathizer" and "The Refugees" and Ayad Akhtar’s "Homeland Elegies" and "The Disgraced" available for students, staff and faculty on a first come first served basis.

We require students, staff, and faculty to register in order to participate in the reading groups and to receive free copies. We also ask that you NOT pick up copies of books if you already own them or CANNOT commit to reading them prior to the reading group meetings. After you submit the registration form you will receive a confirmation email and the books can be picked up from Asian Studies in the Interdisciplinary House (ID House, 1115 N. Cascade Ave.) You will need to show your CC ID and a copy of email confirming your registration to pick up your copy of the books.
