Staff availability

In order to mitigate the spread of the COVID-19 virus, Duke University has restricted travel and many staff are working from home. The Press remains open for business.

Support for libraries in response to COVID-19

In response to the current challenges that universities face as a result of the spread of COVID-19, Duke University Press offers libraries additional support:

  • We provide remote access options on both of our content platforms. If you would like to set this up, please contact our Customer Relations team at orders@dukeupress.edu.
  • Processing of payments by check may be delayed. If you are planning on sending a payment and have not yet done so, please consider sending a wire or paying by credit card. Contact orders@dukeupress.edu for more information.

Please be in touch about your library’s needs. You can reach the library relations team directly at dup_libraryrelations@duke.edu.

Virtual Conferences

Duke University Press continues to participate in virtual conferences as organized by the academic disciplines. Where the conference is in-person, we are participating as staff availability and local conditions allow.  A list of conferences we are attending virtually or in-person is available on our conference page. Please visit our blog for up-to-date information about our presence and DUP staff attending (where applicable).

Connecting with our editors

We recognize how important conferences are to our authors with new books, to potential authors who want to speak with our acquisitions editors, and to prospective journal editors, so we will be looking for other ways to engage with them. Prospective authors who were hoping to connect with our editors should feel free to reach out to them via email. See their areas of specialty on the Meet Our Editorial Team page. Once you’ve decided whom to contact, see our submissions guidelines on the How to Submit a Book Proposal page.
