Academic HealthPlans (AHP) Support Services

AHP is the plan administrator for SHIP. AHP offers a customer service team and live chat to help answer your SHIP insurance questions. Visit the Help Center to submit a help request or initiate a live chat. You may also call 1-855-855-2486.

Aetna Support

Aetna is the insurance carrier for SHIP. For questions about claims, you may call 1-877-480-4168.
For questions about prescription medication, you may call 1-888-792-3862.

On-Campus Support

If you have questions about SHIP requirements, enrollment, and waivers please email SHIP@vanderbilt.edu. Please provide your VUnetID in your email.

During the summer term, SHIP appointments to speak with a representative are by request only. Please email SHIP@vanderbilt.edu to request an appointment.

During the Fall and Spring semesters, a SHIP representative will be available for in person drop-in hours in Rand Hall, Suite 305 (Student Care Coordination) on Tuesdays from 9:00AM-12:00PM and Wednesdays from 12:00PM-3:00PM. You may also schedule an appointment outside of these hours by emailing SHIP@vanderbilt.edu.

If you have questions about your Explanation of Benefits (EOB) statement, referrals, medical claims or medical bills, you may contact the Student Health Center at 615-343-4688.
