Welcome to the Cognitive Neuroscience of Aging Lab

The goals of our lab are to identify neuroimaging markers of age-related cognitive declines and reserve factors may slow or prevent these declines. We are currently focusing on factors such as brain iron accumulation, associated with oxidative stress, and vascular contributors associated with small vessel disease. We seek to understand how these brain changes may lead to neurocognitive declines and may interact with or accelerate the development of common proteinopathies such as Aβ, tau, or TDP-43.
