UPCOMING EVENT!

A Parent and Family Guide to Childhood Trauma

October 12 @ 7pm via ZOOM

Register HERE!

Childhood trauma is prevalent in our society. The pandemic, school violence, medical trauma, family separation, bullying, poverty, racism, and political unrest are all examples of potential traumas that we face every day.

For years we’ve believed that something was wrong with us when we suffered from mental health issues like anxiety, depression, and panic attacks. We now know that these involuntary physiological responses typically tie back to traumatic events in a person’s life.

In this workshop on Childhood Trauma, you will be introduced to this concept, and how to begin the healing process.

FOCUS Tip of the Month

In a world where children are "growing up digital," it's important to help them learn healthy concepts of digital use and citizenship. Parents play an important role in teaching these skills. Check out this article on HealthyChildren.org.

FOCUS Committee general meetings take place bi-monthly at 7PM in the CF Patton Middle School library (currently over Zoom) to plan programs. Specific planning sub-committees meet on the opposite months. Please go to the About Us page for meeting dates and details.

Interested in helping out on the FOCUS committee? All are welcome!
