ABOUT
Welcome! The College & Career Center holds a wealth of information and resources for students as they ponder "life after high school." Parents and students can reach out or make an appointment with Mr. Nalda in the College & Career Center for assistance with college, career, or scholarship searches. The College & Career Center also has many resources and information regarding financial aid. This is especially important for eleventh and twelfth graders.
During the school year, the College & Career Center is open 7:00am - 3:00pm. Students can come in before school, after school, or during lunch. At any other time during the day, students may come down with a pass as long as a scheduled activity is not taking place. Parents & Guardians are also welcome to schedule an appointment via email. Zoom meetings are also available.

Juniors & Seniors are encouraged to participate in visits to learn more about colleges and universities. Students interested in participating in visits must register in Naviance. Exelon Foundation Boys to STEM Academy @ UMD
July 28 - August 2, 2024 | University of Maryland, College Park
Calling all young men currently in 10th or 11th grade (Class of 2025 or 2026) interested in energy and sustainability!
Embark on a free electrifying week of energy, climate change, and leadership at the Exelon Foundation Boys to STEM Academy. Unleash your curiosity through hands-on projects, a weeklong energy challenge, and immersive experiences that blend STEM with essential leadership skills. Explore sustainable energy solutions and become part of a community shaping the future. Don't miss out on this opportunity to explore, learn, and lead towards a sustainable future!
All participants will receive an iPad to use during the Academy.
All participants will receive t-shirts to wear during the Academy.
All participants will stay on-campus at the University of Maryland, College Park for the week.
All participants attending from outside Maryland/Washington, D.C., will be provided travel to the UMD campus, coordinated by The NEED Project.

MCPS Out of School Time Grow Your Own Career Fair - April 10

MCPS Out of School Time has partnered up with Grow Your Own to offer students an amazing opportunity on April 10th to attend a Grow Your Own Career Fair with community partners. This is the perfect time for students to learn about job applications, interviewing, and possibly get an interview on the spot. Students of all grades welcome.
The deadline to register is April 1st.

Calling all young women currently in 10th or 11th grade (Class of 2025 or 2026) interested in energy and sustainability! Looking for a fun and supportive environment to connect with other young women who are interested in energy & sustainability? Considering a future career in science, technology, engineering, or math? Want to know more about energy, sustainability, and climate change? Interested in improving your leadership skills?
The Exelon Foundation STEM Academy is a free, week-long in-person event. Learn from women working in STEM and business leaders. Visit energy facilities. Explore sustainability, energy efficiency, renewable energy and climate change. Connect with like-minded peers.

Job Fair, Westfield Montgomery Mall - April 20
Saturday, April 20, 2024 | 1:00PM to 4:00PM
Multiple retailers as well as Community partners including but not limited to MCPD, Gaithersburg Police, BBCRS, Rockville City Police, Emergency 911 and more will be coming out for hiring and recruiting opportunities for part-time, full-time as well as some holiday hours.
Summer Junior Leader Program - Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington, Germantown Branch
Summer SSL opportunity for rising 9th graders-12th graders! We are calling all Junior Leaders to apply for our Summer Junior Leader program! Junior Leaders are volunteer club members (going into the 9th grade - 12th grade) who are interested in learning leadership skills and skills to work with youth. Each Junior Leader will be assigned to a Camp Counselor that they will assist with daily activities. The Junior Leader program allows our teen members to have an amazing summer, gain work experience and training, while earning SSL hours.
All applicants must submit a completed application packet (application, essay, and 3 letters of recommendation) due by Friday, April 26, 2024.
