Shady Grove is a joyful place, where all students are valued, celebrated, and seen in our curriculums.  In order for each student to achieve academic success and wellness, we will evaluate our counseling practices through an equity lens; and strive for meaningful progress and growth.  Students foster meaningful relationships and are equipped to be lifelong learners and contributing community members.

Mission Statement:

The school counseling program at Shady Grove Middle School delivers intentional and meaningful services that support the social emotional, and college/career development skills for all students. With the guiding belief that all students can learn and succeed, school counselors use a collaborative strength focused model to work with students, families, staff and the community.  Counselors work together to remove barriers and provide access for every student.  We will prepare students to become lifelong learners, confident in their skills to pursue whatever path they want in their life, and steadfast in their commitment to being leaders of social justice.  We believe a child who feels safe and valued is successful and engaged.  As a school that embodies the diversity of our country and county, our practices promote equity for all students as we cultivate a community of empathetic, adaptable, and inclusive lifelong critical thinkers.

Failure to bring in all of the documents needed for enrollment will delay your student’s enrollment at Shady Grove Middle School.
