Project Connect Requests

• All public school districts and community agencies served by the Region 2 office are eligible to submit a request. This includes those with a primary location in Berks, Chester, Dauphin, Lancaster, Lebanon, or Schuylkill counties.

• Parents/guardians or students wishing to make a request should contact their school district's McKinney-Vento Liaison. Requests must be made by a school district or agency staff member on behalf of McKinney-Vento-eligible students.

• Students must be identified under the McKinney-Vento Act and be between the ages of 3-21. Students over the age of 18 must be attending a public school in order to qualify. Any questions regarding McKinney-Vento eligibility should be directed to Tabitha Kramer at tabkra@berksiu.org. 

• All student data must be verified by the school district’s homeless liaison or ECYEH Region 2 staff and entered into the ECYEH data reporting system.

• School districts and community agencies may request one of each kit (educational, hygiene, feminine hygiene, school supply, and winter kit) for each child in the family. Requests beyond this limit may be approved under certain circumstances at the discretion of the ECYEH Region 2 office. If students and families need additional support, please contact Tabitha Kramer at tabkra@berksiu.org.

1. School districts and community agencies will fill out the Google Request Form for each family unit. 

   • One of each type of kit (Hygiene OR Feminine Hygiene Kit, Winter Care Kit, School Supply Backpack, and Educational Kit) may be requested per student. 

2. The Google Request Form will include the following:

• Contact information for agency/school district making request

• Student/family contact information (to confirm McKinney-Vento eligibility)

• Student/family current nighttime residence status (to confirm McKinney-Vento eligibility)

• Number and type of kit or gift card requested (Please note that product availability differs by County. Specific educational kit requests are not guaranteed.) 

3. ECYEH Region 2 staff will receive the request and complete the following steps:

• Confirm McKinney-Vento eligibility

• Confirm the student is entered into the ECYEH data system

• Email the school district or agency either confirming or denying the request within 3-5 days

4. If the request is approved, the school district or agency will need to pick up the kits at the storing agency as followed: 

• Berks County: Berks County Intermediate Unit

• Chester County: Chester County Intermediate Unit

• Dauphin County: Thrive Housing Services

• Lancaster County: Lancaster-Lebanon Intermediate Unit

• Lebanon County: Kits will be mailed to the school/agency 

• Schuylkill County: Schuylkill County Intermediate Unit
