About Me

I'm Professor of Philosophy and Environmental Studies at Colgate University. My research focuses on issues in ethics (both normative and metaethics), environmental ethics, and epistemology, with an emphasis on virtue-based approaches to each. 

I am honoured to be the inaugural holder of the Carl Benton Straub '58 Endowed Chair in Culture and the Environment (though 2030); you can learn more about the life and work of  Prof. Straub here.

I'm originally from North Bay, Ontario, and completed my BA (Hons) in Philosophy and French at the University of Western Ontario, and my PhD at Brown University.
