Dr. Whitaker graduated from the UK Honors program with a bachelor’s degree in biology before pursuing her doctor of medicine degree with special qualifications in biomedical research from Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University. Since completing her residency at the University of California San Francisco and a fellowship at Harvard Combined/Boston Children’s Hospital, she has been working as a pediatric orthopedic surgeon at Shriners Children’s Hospital - Northern California and assistant professor at University of California Davis. Dr. Whitaker specializes in improving care for children and adults with cerebral palsy, focusing on hip surveillance, outcomes, gait, clubfoot and lower limb deformities. In her free time, she enjoys swimming, biking, running, long-course triathlons, spending time with family and playing with her dog Wompus.
