Scholarships for New Quaker Students

In addition to tuition assistance, Scattergood offers a limited number of Quaker scholarships to new students who are members of a monthly or yearly Quaker meeting. The scholarships available only for Fall admits and are renewable each year the student is enrolled.

The Award:

  • This award amount is currently $10,000.
  • This award is renewable each year based on satisfactory academic performance and community conduct.

Criteria for Eligibility:

  • Participates in Monthly or Yearly Meeting youth programs.
  • Is in solid academic standing.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to Quaker values.

Application Process:

  • A complete Scattergood application for admission.
  • A personal recommendation by a non-family member of the student's Meeting.
  • A submission, in narrative, digital, or creative form, that illustrates the student's engagement with simplicity, peace, social justice, integrity, and/or environmental stewardship within their community.

Application Deadline:

The application deadline for fall (1st semester) admissions is August 1, for winter (2nd semester) is December 10. Please reach out to admissions@scattergood.org with questions.

Is this scholarship available to international students?  Yes.

Can I still receive financial aid in addition to a Quaker Scholarship?  Yes.  A scholarship may be stacked with financial aid for families who qualify. 

These scholarships are renewable each year? Yes. If awarded, scholarships are renewable if the student maintains both good academic standing and community conduct.

What are the scholarship application deadlines? Scholarship submissions, along with the scholarship applicant's complete application for admission, are due by June 1.
