Description

This workshop shares River Parishes Community College's use of the National Alliance for Partnerships in Equity's (NAPE) five-step Program Improvement Process (PIPE) as a means for increasing the access and success of underrepresented groups in its CTE programs. It also engages participants in using PIPE to address an equity gap relevant to their own institutions.

By the end of this workshop, participants know or be able to:

  • Discuss the need for increasing the access and success of underrepresented students in CTE and identify an equity gap at their own institutions.
  • List and apply the steps in the PIPE process.
  • Discuss the root causes of the equity gaps that persist in CTE and identify a potential root cause for the equity gap at their own institutions.
  • Formulate an action research plan for addressing the identified equity gap.
