2023-24 L.A. County Superintendent Student Advisory Council Application
Dear high school students of LA County,

We are excited to announce the unique opportunity for you to join the Superintendent's Student Advisory Council. This council aims to bring together voices from all corners of LA County, providing a platform for you to share feedback, experiences, and perspectives on various issues affecting our schools and communities.

Elevating student voices is crucial in shaping conversations about education and youth development. As the Los Angeles County Superintendent of Schools, I represent all public schools in the nation's largest county and lead the largest regional educational agency, supporting 80 unique school districts with varying needs. LACOE's commitment lies in identifying viable, innovative, and sustainable solutions to ensure equity, enhance the quality of public education, and support the well-being and achievement of every student.

The Los Angeles County Superintendent Student Advisory Council will hold quarterly virtual meetings, starting in Fall 2023. Meetings are scheduled in the afternoon (4:00 PM - 5:30 PM), and we expect active participation from all student advisory members in every meeting. To participate, selected students must provide proof of parent(s) or legal guardian(s) permission.

Don't miss this opportunity to make a difference in our educational landscape! To apply, submit your applications by 5:00 PM on Friday, September 1, 2023.

Eligibility: All students attending an L.A. County public high school (Grade 9-12) are eligible to apply.

Join us in shaping the future of education and empowering the voices of our students.

Best regards,
Dr. Debra Duardo, L.A. County Superintendent of Schools
