2021 Virtual Inter-CFAR 
Women and HIV Symposium

October 12 - 13, 2021 - 10:00am- 1:00pm EST
The 2021 Inter-CFAR Women and HIV symposium will include mentorship for early career investigators, virtual networking opportunities, and competitively reviewed abstracts for oral and poster presentations.

  • Eileen Scully, MD, PhD, Johns Hopkins University
  • Maureen Goodenow, PhD, NIH Office of AIDS Research

CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

Students, Faculty, and Staff are invited to submit abstracts for a poster session and symposium presentations. Abstract submissions are due by August 24, 2021

Selected abstracts will be notified the 2nd week of September.

Abstracts should be related to WOMEN, HIV, and COVID-19. Abstracts can be related to COVID-19 if they include data at the intersection of HIV and COVID-19 for cis and/or transgender women.

Possible topics include:

  • HIV prevention, treatment, and cure
  • coinfections and comorbidities to HIV
  • social and behavioral science related to HIV prevention and treatment
  • implementation science for HIV prevention and treatment
  • sex and gender differences in HIV 
  • the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on women investigators in HIV research
  • the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on women living with HIV

Abstracts are limited to 350 words (across Background, Methods, Results, and Conclusions).
