#LAFRocks

In 2023, the festival hosted the #LAFRocks Public Art Project. Six local artists were selected to create artistic masterpieces out of small boulders. The final artwork was displayed throughout the festival footprint, and guests were encouraged to visit each one – click here for the map. In addition, Muskegon Museum of Art hosted a rock decorating booth in the roundabout at Western Avenue and 3rd Street. The public was invited to get creative by painting a small stone. This was an effort to spread art, kindness and positivity throughout West Michigan!

Street Art by David Zinn

In 2022, the festival hosted International Street Artist David Zinn. Zinn created 10 pieces of chalk art throughout the Lakeshore Art Festival footprint.

Chalk-the-Walk (PADNOS Public Art Project)

To accompany David Zinn on his quest to find art in everything (even little cracks in the sidewalk), the public was invited to get creative and “Chalk-the-Walk” along Western Avenue!

Community Mosaic Project

In 2021, the festival hosted the first ever Community Mosaic Project! Reclaimed wooden 4×4 square tiles were available to the community as mini canvases to create art upon. Each tile was added to larger boards during the festival, creating a multi-dimensional community mosaic! Click here for more information, or click here for photos.
