Pop star Hayley Kiyoko, known lovingly by her fans as "Lesbian Jesus," made a splash at the Pride parade in New York City on Sunday. The Expectations singer attended the celebration as an ambassador for W Hotels, riding the company's float down the rainbow-lined streets of Manhattan amongst fans, friends, fellow members of the LGBTQ+ community, and allies.
For Kiyoko, commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall riots yesterday "was a reminder that we all need to lead not only our generation but encourage and fight for our future generations," she reflected on Instagram.
She's the same way with her music. As an artist who openly celebrates her sexuality in her songs, Kiyoko previously toldBAZAAR.com, "It's important for people to feel accepted and feel validated with their emotions and experiences. So if I can be a small part of someone's positive experience, it really means a lot to me."
Kiyoko went all-out for her day-of look, sporting a neon orange organza blouse by Paloma Suarez, metallic pasties, Alexis Bittar jewelry, and clusters of body jewels. "If I’m gonna be extra, today’s the day," she says of her playfully over-the-top outfit.
Flip through for the highlights from her day at Pride 2019 with commentary from the singer herself.
