PEPA Scribe Job Description 

The position of the scribe within the Emergency Department is a clerical assistant to the physician and mid-level.  The position requires a self-motivated person to maximize the provider’s efficiency by minimizing provider time required on information management. 

The scribe works for the physician and/or mid-level in a professional capacity, along with the emergency room staff.  The scribe must have a professional manner and demeanor.  It is of the utmost importance that the scribe is self-motivated, continuously aware of the management of the patient’s charts, and able to anticipate and respond to the needs of the provider.

 Some of our minimal requirements and expectations include:

• Applicants must be or have been enrolled in an accredited college or university; with completion of at least one year
• Employees are to work a minimum of 32 hours each month
• Employees are expected to work some nights, weekends, and holidays
