Covenant Living of Golden Valley Announces Health Care Leadership

Golden Valley, Minn.: Covenant Living of Golden Valley, a Continuing Care Retirement Community, announces new leadership within health care offered at its community.

Cathie Thompson has been named as Director of Nursing within Covenant Living of Golden Valley Care & Rehabilitation Center. Thompson, a registered nurse, brings 17 years of experience in the field of nursing. She graduated with her Bachelor’s in Nursing from Augsburg College and has a minor in communication studies.

Heather Bell has been promoted to Associate Executive Director from her previous position as the Health Care Administrator. In her new role, Bell will provide oversight to Covenant Living of Golden Valley-Assisted Living. She’s been with the community for nearly three years. Bell holds two bachelor's degrees, one in business administration with a major in healthcare administration from the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire; the other in business administration with an emphasis in quality management from the University of Wisconsin-Stout, Menomonie.

Christine DeLander has been promoted from Director of Nursing to Health Care Administrator at Covenant Living of Golden Valley Care & Rehabilitation Center. DeLander has worked in long-term care for over 17 years and at Covenant Living for more than two years. In addition to her Masters in Nursing Leadership/Management, she obtained her Nursing Home Administration Licensure education at the University of Minnesota.

Covenant Living of Golden Valley recently announced its new name as part of an organization-wide rebranding. It also includes health care at the community formerly known as Colonial Acres, Woodside Terrace and Heritage House, now rebranded as Covenant Living of Golden Valley - Care & Rehabilitation Center; Covenant Living of Golden Valley - Assisted Living; and Covenant Living of Golden Valley - Assisted Living Memory Care.
