Open Education Week

What: Open Education Week

When: March 4-8, 2024

Where: Fully online

Who: Higher education faculty, students and thought leaders

Open Education Week is an annual celebration that raises awareness of global efforts to make learning more “open” — that is, more affordable and accessible to students everywhere. Every March, this weeklong, online event gives educators and students an opportunity to learn more about open educational practices and be inspired by the work being developed around the world, including by Oregon State University faculty.

In recent years, Oregon State faculty have made notable contributions to the field of open education:

  • The OERU, in collaboration with OSU faculty, saved OSU students more than $18 million in course material costs since winter 2019.
  • Anatomy & Physiology, published by Oregon State, was the 2nd most-viewed title on Pressbooks in 2023 (2.7 million pageviews) and the 1st most-visited (1.8 million visitors) across all networks — accounting for 2.8% of all Pressbooks visitors!

We know many more exciting achievements are to come. Please join us for Open Education Week this year to learn how you can get involved and make a meaningful difference in the lives of OSU students.
