Joanne Zygmunt

Senior Economic Development and Environmental Planner

Joanne Zygmunt is Senior Economic Development and Environmental Planner at Old Colony Planning Council. Responsible for the Five-year Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy for the region, Joanne coordinates the regional economic development committee and works closely with communities to ensure that their needs and priorities are addressed through the regional plan. Joanne works with cities and towns on coordinating economic development and resiliency initiatives, conducting surveys and data analyses, developing local policies and plans, providing technical assistance, and supporting grant applications.

Prior to joining OCPC, Joanne ran her own consulting business helping for- and nonprofit organizations start up in the environmental education and water conservation sectors. Currently, she serves as Chair of the Central Plymouth County Water District Commission and is a member of the Brockton Conservation Commission.

Joanne received her bachelor’s from Boston University in Political Science and her master’s from University College London in Development and Planning. She is a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and a member of the American Planning Association.
