Which 2022 Emmy-nominated show to watch based on your zodiac sign

And the winner is…. us.

The 2022 Primetime Emmy Awards will air on NBC September 12, recognizing the best and brightest in television programming.

Fun fact: the term “Emmy” comes from the nickname for the image-orthicon, a revolutionary tube used in the first television cameras.

Since the Emmy’s premiered in 1949, the medium of television has expanded broadly and improved wildly and we as a nation have never consumed more of it; according to U.S. News, watching television is the most popular leisure activity for Americans.

Leading the Emmy nominations this year is HBO followed by Netflix, cementing the impact of streaming services on the landscape of the small screen. In an upset to fans and an invitation to social media outrage, “Yellowstone” went unnoticed and the final season of “This Is Us,” was not recognized in a major category. In notable nods, Chadwick Boseman has been honored with a posthumous nomination and Former President Barrack Obama received a nomination for his voiceover work in the Netflix docuseries, “Our Great National Parks.”

With so much and worthy contenders, we have done you the great service of matching must watch shows to the zodiac signs they align with. Read on and tune in.

Cancers will find kinship with “What We Do In The Shadows,” a show about bickering home bodies that feed on drama and the blood of innocents but also you know, have a lot of feelings and great taste in window dressings. Cancer is ruled by the moon; the light by which the nocturnals in this comedy series live, laugh, love and kill.

LEO (July 23 – August 22)

Abbott Elementary

Leos, like Wu Tang Clan and the teachers of “Abbott Elementary,” are for the children. ABC

Leo rules the fifth house of creativity and play and at best lions of all ages maintain a childlike sense of wonder or at worst an adolescent approach to conflict. At their best when trying to better other, Leos will find much to roar about in the mockumentary comedy series “Abbott Elementary,” which follows a group of teachers trying to maintain their mental health and higher selves while working in a underserved public school.

VIRGO (August 23 – September 22)

While Scorpio gets much of the credit for being the suspicious super sleuth of the zodiac, it’s really exacting, deeply observational Virgo that teaches the master class in detection and unearthing. This earth sign will find much to dig and dig into in Hulu’s “Only Murders in the Building,” a show about a trio of neighbors on the hunt to solve a slaying.

LIBRA (September 23 – October 22)

Pam & Tommy

Libra is the sign of partnership and the unholy union of Cancer Pamela Anderson and Libra Tommy Lee, documented in Hulu’s “Pam & Tommy” is a deep dive into the dynamics of desire and destruction. Libras love love but are leery of long term commitment making this limited series an ideal pick for the sign of scales and balances.

Ted Lasso

Ruled by luck giving, expansion seeking planet Jupiter, Sagittarians have an optimistic energy that serves them well, even, and especially, when the odds are stacked against them. Believing is a central theme and an all caps mantra in “Ted Lasso,” a series about a habitually hopeful American football coach, played by Jason Sudeikis, hired to lead a British soccer team.

CAPRICORN (December 22 – January 19)

Succession

Sea goats will see themselves in “Succession,” a family tale of bold ambitions. Graeme Hunter

Capricorn is a stalwart earth sign concerned with foundation building and legacy making, thus “Succession” and the inner workings and personal failings of the fraught, dynastic Roy Family is necessary viewing for sea goats. In terms of archetype, Capricorn is the “daddy” of the zodiac and relates to themes of ambition, career and the mark we leave upon the world. True to form and aligned with this sign, Brian Cox’s Logan Roy is a villainous patriarch for the ages.

AQUARIUS (January 20 – February 18)

Euphoria

Gen Z drama “Euphoria” is Aquarius energy personified.

Uranus, planet of rebellion stays in each sign for roughly seven years, meaning it rules a generation more than a single individual. For Gen Z, those born between 1995 – 2003, Uranus is in the forward thinking, humanitarian hearted sign of Aquarius and there is perhaps no more quintessential, jaw dropping, visually arresting or boundary pushing Gen Z centric drama than HBO’s “Euphoria.” For fans of the show interested in which cast member embodies their zodiac sign, click here.

Better Call Saul

The “Breaking Bad” prequel traces the origins con artist Jimmy McGills as he transforms himself into the morally bankrupt attorney but deeply lovable criminal lawyer Saul Goodman. Pisces are aces at the art of avoidance and it tracks that Jimmy would create an alias in order to distance himself from the familiar, familial pain of his real last name.
