‘Period simulator’ puts men through that time of month: TikTok laughs at their pain

Bloody hell — this is one tortuous way to spend a day.

Men are getting a taste of what women go through on a monthly basis by using a period simulator.

Period product company Somedays has created a viral series on TikTok showing males being hooked up to a gadget that recreates menstrual symptoms.

The machine mimics the aching and painful cramps that many people experience during their menstrual cycles.

There are several levels to the machine, which contracts the muscles for wearers to feel the sensation. Level four is deemed as the standard cramp feeling and level 10 is the most unbearable.

One video with more than 20 million views and features a cowboy trying the simulator and bracing himself for the pain. The dude started sweating, saying, “I’m feeling it now” once he got up to level four.

“This is not fun,” he stated. When he hit level six, he started gasping and wincing in pain. After he got to 10, he gave a breathless “Yee-haw!” and flinched in agony once more.

Commenters — mainly women — dropped their thoughts on the experience that is a period.

“Not to mention the uncomfortable bloating, intense emotions, constipation, headache/migraine, extreme nausea, and MORE. 🙃,” one wrote.

“He was such a good sport😁,” someone noted. “This guy actually did really well. Usually men stop by 3 or 4.”

In a separate video, someone’s “sweetheart boyfriend” took the challenge and was able to reach stage nine before tapping out.

The man was sitting down for most of the levels until he decided to stand for number eight — in the hopes that his posture might help alleviate the soreness.

Nope.

“Yeah, I’m done,” he ‘jokingly’ said as he longed to take off the period simulator pads at level nine.

“Give it time on each level. Quit rushing it. Let them marinate,” a user quipped in the comments. “Make them stand up for the entire thing.” Another viewer added: “Wish I could be like yeah I’m done with this and it magically stops 😩😂😂.”

One TikTok showed a couple trying the machine together. At number seven, the woman, Sarah, didn’t seem to flinch — but her husband, Shane, said he was starting to feel the pain coursing through his body.

“It just feels like a mild cramp, to be honest with you,” Sarah offered, while her partner began to grumble and hold his stomach as the tingles were getting to him.

When number eight occurred, Shane grumbled and declared that he couldn’t even stand up — and confirmed he would call in sick for work at this level of pain. He declined to try level nine but did eventually stand up with a groan.

Sarah, meanwhile, weathered level 10.

“[This] feels like early stage labor,” Sarah said, not standing up and looking seemingly unfazed.

Viewers, meanwhile, shared what it’s like to have a monthly cycle. “They should make this mandatory during health class for boys to grow up knowing how it’s [sic] feels,” a user wrote.

“My mom was so confused when she went into labor because she was like, ‘but this just feels like my period,'” another person explained.

“The next step is husbands’ wearing it for 24 hours on level 5, going to work, shopping, making dinner and putting the kids to bed and then be social,” one viewer joked.
