Simone Biles gets engaged to Texans boyfriend Jonathan Owens

Olympian Simone Biles is adding a new kind of hardware to her collection: an engagement ring.

On Tuesday, the 24-year-old Olympic gymnast announced her engagement to boyfriend Jonathan Owens, a defensive back for the Houston Texans.

“THE EASIEST YES,” Biles shared on Instagram. “I can’t wait to spend forever & ever with you, you’re everything I dreamed of and more! let’s get married FIANCÉ.”

Biles shared photos from the couple’s sweet engagement, in which Owens presented the seven-time medalist with a stunning ring that featured an oval-cut center stone and a diamond band.

“Ready for forever with you,” Owens, 26, commented on his future wife’s post on Tuesday.

Owens, who has been part of the Texans since 2019, shared on his Instagram page that the proposal took place on Valentine’s Day.

“Woke up this morning with a fiancée,” Owens wrote Tuesday. “Appreciate my dawg @don_julio314 for helping me set everything up, she really had no clue what was coming.”

Biles and Owens made their relationship Instagram-official in August 2020, months after encountering one another at a Texans game. This December, Biles witnessed Owens hauling in his first career interception in a win against the Chargers.

“I’m so proud of you, watching you get your first NFL interception & fumble recovery was a dream! all the hard work is paying off & this is just the beginning! I love you,” Biles gushed of Owens after his impressive game.

Much like Biles has supported Owens, the NFL pro has cheered on the gymnast throughout her Olympic journey last summer, in which she also took a step back to focus on her mental health.

“Imma ride with you through whatever baby ❤️ Your strength and courage is unmatched and you inspire me more and more everyday SB 🤞🏽You always gone be my champ baby and don’t you ever forget that, i love you so much and i can’t wait till you come home and i get to see that beautiful smile again,” Owens wrote on Instagram in July 2021. “You know I’m always here for you baby.”
