Trump signs bill granting $4.6B in emergency funds for US border

President Trump on Monday signed the border spending bill authorizing $4.6 billion in emergency funds for humanitarian aid at the southern border.

The bill passed the Senate last Wednesday — and the following day won approval from the Democratic-controlled House after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi backed off a competing proposal opposed by Trump.

The funds will be directed to cash-strapped federal agencies tasked with caring for migrant refugees detained at the southern border.
