Vanderbilt’s Office of Conflict of Interest and Commitment Management recently received a conflict-of-interest complaint related to Chancellor Diermeier’s previous speaking engagements and consulting work. The university takes seriously all such complaints, and in accordance with the university’s oversight process, the matter was referred to the Board of Trust Audit Committee.
The committee has thoroughly investigated the complaint’s allegations and found no evidence of any conflict. Further, the committee found that Chancellor Diermeier properly and fully disclosed all relevant information in the course of the extensive due diligence process related to his appointment.
Because the committee has found the complaint to be without merit, the matter is now considered closed.
