Update coronavirus

+++ Extension of border controls+++Important information on goods acceptance+++Changes in Proof of Delivery+++China business picks up speed

Dear business partner,

Our cargo networks in Europe continue to function at a high level. Our efforts are running at full speed for you at all locations. However, we ask for your understanding that delays may occur due to the constantly changing situation. Due to border controls - especially in the Balkan region - there are long waiting times which have a negative effect on transit times.

The spread of the coronavirus means that a growing number of businesses will have to close down, at least temporarily. Therefore we advise you to get in an even more intensive contact with your consignee: Only dispatch shipments for which you have clarified and ensured acceptance of the goods by your consignee.

As we have to handle the available transport and storage capacities carefully, as of now we will return the goods to the sender at a charge. We ask for your support so that we can efficiently use the available resources for the maintenance of the supply chains.

Change in proof of delivery (POD)
Recipients are gradually refusing to sign delivery notes - due to the need to maintain a personal safe distance. For this reason, we reserve the right to record the name of the recipient and take a picture of the shipment on site. This way we can continue to deliver for you in such cases.

Air & Sea: With the further start of production in China, the number of shipments there will continue to rise. The volume of shipments in the USA also remains relatively constant. In Europe there are capacity limitations due to the lack of passenger flights.

Developments at a glance:

  • Austria: The extension of the quarantine areas to the whole of Tyrol and parts of the Salzburg region leads to restrictions.
  • New entry restrictions in Switzerland, Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia, Romania, Turkey, Georgia and Kazakhstan
