RENO, Nev. (News 4 & Fox 11) — The University of Nevada, Reno has surpassed their fundraising goal of $22,000 in support of students who as "food insecure".
We sat down with Kavin Sivakumar to learn more about Pack Provisions.
As of 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, more than $27,000 has been raised for the food pantry.
The pantry for perishable and non-perishable food items, school supplies and hygiene items was created in 1993 to ensure that students experiencing food insecurity had a place on campus they knew they could rely on. The 153-square-foot space, located on the third floor of the Joe Crowley Student Union, is equipped with a commercial-grade freezer and refrigerator, shelving and ample storage.
