Bend-Redmond Habitat for Humanity celebrate some new homeowners in a southeast Bend neighborhood Saturday afternoon.

A home dedication ceremony held at the new townhomes on 27th Street marks the completion of the project with twelve families moving into the energy efficient homes.

The remaining keys were presented to two homeowners during the ceremony.

Speeches from Habitat staff, new Habitat homeowners, and Bend Mayor Melanie Kebler were made.

"It’s an exciting day, but the best day is two years down the road from now when we see the results of what safe, stable, affordable housing does for families," said Carly Colgan, CEO of Bend-Redmond Habitat for Humanity.

Eight Habitat homes in Bend and Redmond are in progress with applications opening April 1st for twenty-two future homes.
