Prodigy Essentials

Prodigy Essentials

After finding acclaim as one half of Mobb Deep in the mid-'90s, Prodigy was quickly anointed to a position of Queens rap royalty. Having dropped bleak and uncompromising rhymes that helped usher in the thug rap era, Prodigy went on to establish his solo ambitions with 2000's H.N.I.C.. Headed up by the Alchemist-produced "Keep It Thoro," P used the album as an opportunity to balance his menacing flow with moments of introspection and deep thought. Maybe most impressive is that both in and outside of the Mobb's output, Prodigy's voice remains distinct and formidable.
