The Oregon Historical Society is committed to providing broad access to our collections for teaching, learning, and research. Our websites, item records, finding aids, and digital images enhance scholarship and promote use of both digital and physical objects. A critical component of our mission is to “inspire curiosity about all the people, places, and events that have shaped Oregon,” and providing free and open access to our collections is key to executing that mission.
Through this portal, users can search OHS’s museum collection, which safeguards thousands of objects related to the history of the region. The museum collection consists of three-dimensional objects such as personal items, artworks, tools, clothing, and equipment. While the portal currently includes only a portion of the objects in OHS’s museum collection, more records are being added regularly. For assistance, questions, or comments about OHS’s museum collection, please email museum.collection@ohs.org.
To explore OHS’s archival resources, including books, maps, manuscripts, film and videotape, oral histories, and photographs, please visit the research library catalog or contact the research library directly. Thousands of items from OHS’s research library collections are also digitized and are available through OHS Digital Collections.
