This unprecedented viral pandemic hit many lives and means of livelihood last year. The poor and tribal communities couldn’t manage to go their farm field or forest. They lost their means of wages and running out of daily supplies, and people lost their hopes for survival. Whatever saved already spent long back.
Amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic 2nd wave, India has witnessed a massive surge of cases in the past 4 weeks, which is on an average of 400,000 Covid positive cases and 4000 deaths in a day. (Sources - The Indian Express). The state of Odisha has an average of 12,000 Covid19 positive cases per day and 20 deaths for the past 3 weeks. The cases will rise as Expert says.
Donations to this project will support to 500 beneficiaries, (Pregnant Women, Lactic Mother and Children) who are not able to afford a nutritious meal and suffering from iron, Calcium deficiency, most of them are anaemic, and Children malnourished.

The problem is starkly visible in the rural areas and remote villages, migration-prone and Tribal (scheduled tribe) districts of Odisha state in India, the risk is more for pregnant women, lactic mother and children. In this crucial time getting minimum nutrition for them is way too difficult task due to lack of daily wage work, they are not able to afford two-time meal for their families and whatever balance left with them has finished with this year long struggle with the pandemic. Hence, they are suffering from iron, Calcium deficiency, most of them are anaemic, and Children malnourished.

In the fluid context of COVID-19 pandemic, mitigating food security and nutrition is highly critical. It also have a secondary impact on the access by the population, especially socially and economically disadvantaged groups, poorest of the poor to nutritious food and other basic needs due to the movement restrictions, disruptions of market functionality, higher market commodity prices and limited access to health services and hygiene.

Solution

Your donations to this campaign will bring assistance to about 1000 such affected young women (pregnant women, lactic mother and children) and help to boost their immunity and stop the virus's spread. Nutritional Kit will ensure food security and support the Pregnant and Lactic mother to fight hunger along with COVID-19. “The nutrition kit provided to such need population which will sustain them for at least one month to two months time’.
