What if a frog wanted to fly and dry her socks?
What if a turtle didn’t like the rain and grew a chair instead?
Alebrijes are traditional, fantastical, incongruous, and ludic Mexican creatures that little artists will conceive and then untether from their imaginations here at MangoStreet.
Note: This is a drop-off class.
This class consists of two sessions (we need to let our sculptures dry).
First day/Saturday, Sept 21: Children will (1) learn the process to create Mexican Alebrijes, (2) visualize and draw their ideas, and then (3) bring their ideas to life with paper and home-made paste (flour and water).
Second day/Sunday, Sept 29: Children will paint and touch up their pieces.
