Welcome back, Red Raiders!
Transportation Options 
Transportation & Parking Services offers on-demand ride options for students, staff, and faculty. Rides can be requested using the TapRide app, which can be downloaded from the App Store for iOS or Google Play for Android. 

Raider Ride is an on-campus evening ride service for students that runs from 6pm to 2:45am every day during the semester. Students will need their student ID when using Raider Ride. Rides begin on the night before the first day of class and end the Sunday following commencement. Click here for more information on Raider Ride. 

Staff and Faculty can request rides from the Tech Employee Courtesy Shuttle (TECS). Rides can be requested on-demand or scheduled up to 7 days in advance. TECS offers rides across the TTU, HSC, Texas Tech Plaza, and Downtown campuses from 7:30am to 5pm on weekdays. Click here for more information on TECS. 
Universal Waste Drop Off 
Environmental Health & Safety has designated a new location to drop off universal waste. The Drop Box is located by the south door of the Administrative Support Center, and larger items can be dropped off at the Administrative Support Center west dock. Batteries and cartridges can be dropped off at the Administrative Support Center, with smaller items in the drop box and larger items at the west dock location.

2020 Sustainability Tracking, Assessment, and Rating System (STARS) 
For 2020, Texas Tech University earned a Bronze rating from the Sustainability Tracking, Assessment and Rating System (STARS) for its efforts to improve sustainability on campus. Texas Tech earned a Bronze rating for the 4th consecutive year, and Texas Tech's score increased by 6% compared to the 2019 report. The Office of Sustainability would like to thank the Texas Tech community for sharing sustainability efforts and helping Texas Tech be more sustainable!

Heart of Lubbock Community Garden
After starting the Heart of Lubbock Community Garden in 2013, Beth Roesler donated the garden to Texas Tech University's department of Plant and Soil Sciences. 
The Heart of Lubbock Community Garden is located on the corner of Avenue X and 21st Street. The garden is open to everyone and is always looking for volunteers. Volunteers can learn about nutrition, gardening, and sustainability by participating in events and helping in the garden. Visitors and volunteers can also enjoy the pollinator garden or learn more about composting!

City of Lubbock Recycling Locations

Recycling Drop Off - Coming Soon!
Texas Tech University is in the final stages of partnering with the City of Lubbock to add a recycling drop off center north of the Physical Plant. Stay tuned for more information in the coming weeks!
Raider Red's Food Pantry
Texas Tech University created Raider Red's Food Pantry in 2018 to help students facing food insecurity and hunger. Raider Red's Food Pantry provides short-term assistance, but it can connect students with long-term options to support their well-being. Students can find the Food Pantry on the first floor of Doak Hall in room 117.

Students can contact foodpantry@ttu.edu for more information. 
Farmers Markets near Texas Tech University
The Lubbock Downtown Farmers Market is open every Saturday from 9am to 1pm through October 16th. Visit the market located at 19th Street and Buddy Holly Avenue. 
The Wolfforth Farmers Market is open year-round on Saturdays from 10am to 2pm and located at 8924 County Road 7100 in Wolfforth.

Texas Tech University offers a wide variety of courses that incorporate sustainability. Undergraduate and graduate students can select courses from engineering to art to natural resources that cover sustainability topics. Below are some sustainability inclusive courses offered this semester:
