Anamosa State Penitentiary Staff Assault Update
ANAMOSA – This information is an update from the department's previous press release on the assault and deaths of two department staff at the Anamosa State Penitentiary earlier today. Due to the nature of the criminal investigation, the department is limited in the information it can provide related to the incident at this time. The Division of Criminal Investigations is leading the investigation into the events that took place in the attack that led to the death of two Corrections staff members.
The department will host a joint press briefing tomorrow, March 24, 2021 at 3 p.m. in front of the Anamosa State Penitentiary in Anamosa, IA.
