Climate Protector Ride

  • Silver Park 700 Cregg Ln Missoula, MT 59801 USA (map)

Join Families for a Livable Climate, Missoula County Sustainability, Free Cycles, and Soil Cycle on Saturday, September 17 for the Second Annual Climate Protector Ride, a community bike ride from Silver Park to the Climate and Clean Energy Expo at Caras Park!

ABOUT THE RIDE
We invite kids and adults alike to participate donning superhero capes and bright costumes with banners to proclaim and celebrate our collective role as “climate protectors.” Our purpose is to promote biking as a climate solution, showcase our collective commitment toward building a livable future for all, and have fun doing it!

Gather at Silver Park (near the Pavilion) at 10 a.m. We plan to arrive at the Clean Energy Expo at Caras at 11 a.m. We ask that you ride with your family and friend group, and practice Covid safety (social distance as needed). The bike ride is family friendly and will take place entirely on a protected bike lane - all abilities and speeds are welcome!

GIFTS AND PRIZES
Each rider will receive a small gift package with a free ice cream cone coupon from Big Dipper, climate protector sticker, and climate action guide, and will be entered into a drawing to win a free 6-month compost drop-off membership* with Soil Cycle!

*This free 6-month membership is only eligible for Soil Cycle's food scrap drop-off composting service. In addition to 6 months of our composting services, you will also receive other exclusive member opportunities like finished compost returned twice a year!

Families for a Livable Climate creates community for climate action in Montana, empowering families to advocate for a livable future.

Missoula County is committed to addressing climate change and building resiliency in our government operations and throughout our communities.

The goal of Free Cycles is to help Western Montana transition to a sustainable transportation system while simultaneously setting a strong example for other places. Free Cycles provides bicycles, parts, tools, work space, and help for a healthy community. Our programs focus on re-purposing unused bicycles to reduce pollution and increase freedom, empowerment and social change.

Soil Cycle is a bicycle-powered composting and education nonprofit. We hope to create a more sustainable community by diverting food from the landfill, and working together to help our members and volunteers grow their own food, connect with the land and ultimately complete the cycle!

Thank you to our sponsors!
