Allergies

Student allergies are very important to us at LCPS School Nutrition.

LCPS is a completely peanut and tree-nut free district. We do not serve products that contain any of the following ingredients or products manufactured in a facility that contains: almonds, cashews, hazelnuts, macadamia nuts, peanuts, pecans, pistachios, or walnuts.

To view allergies in menu items, please visit our online menus. You may hover over menu items to view the allergies present or you may filter by allergens by using the drop-down bar at the top.

To view dietary restrictions on the online menu, indicate the preferred dietary restriction by checking the box at the top of the screen.

In addition, The Department of Pupil Services has adopted the following allergy-resource handbook and has made it available to the community: Procedural Handbook for Students with Allergies

LCPS is aware of the change to the sesame allergen guidelines beginning January 1st, 2023. Sesame has been added to the top 9 allergens, and will be identified on any LCPS products that contains the ingredient. Several of our vendors have released statements that address this change as well. See full list and document here for vendor issued statements.

Vegetarian and Vegan Meals

We offer a number of menu items that meet the needs of a vegetarian and vegan diet.  Please visit our online menus and select "Vegetarian" and "Vegan" as dietary restrictions from the drop down bar to view available meal options.

Gluten Free Menus

To view gluten free items on the Titan Menu Portal, select "Gluten Free" as the Dietary Restriction.

Gluten free menus are available upon request for all grade levels in Loudoun County.

If a student requires a gluten free meal, School Nutrition asks that parents and/or students do the following:

  • Please contact Olivia Shah, RDN at [email protected] AT LEAST 2 weeks in advance to notify us of your child's dietary needs and learn what menu items are available.
  • The items on the gluten free menu may contain other allergens, so please make sure to view the allergen information for all items on our website.
  • All allergen information is taken directly from manufacturer’s labels and databases and is subject to change without notice. LCPS School Nutrition does not guarantee the information and provides it solely for your convenience. School Nutrition does everything we can to accommodate special dietary needs, however, the safest meals are those brought from home.
  • If you have questions or concerns regarding the gluten free menu, please contact Olivia Shah, RDN at [email protected]

Special Diets

LCPS offers meal substitutions and modifications for children with dietary restrictions or substitutions when presented with a signed statement by a recognized medical authority. Please reach out to Olivia Shah, RDN, at [email protected] for questions regarding specific dietary requirements.

Product formulations sheets are available for your review: Ingredient Lists.

Product formulation sheets (PFS) are received by the manufacturer and are subject to change without notice. LCPS School Nutrition does not guarantee the information and provides it solely for your convenience here:

You can now access carbohydrate counts for all menu items, as substituted items may not be listed on the online monthly menus. To view ingredient lists of each menu item, click here.

Please note: all menus are subject to change

The nationwide food shortage issue will require us to alter daily menus and make substitutions for products. Menu changes may vary based on product availability in different schools.
